All were taken at Beamish Museum apart from the last one.
This is the control room where they move the rail tracks.

This last photo was taken from a river ship in Germany. Can you spot the very long line of mainly white cars being transported by rail?
That train in the first photo looks like an oldie.
The original ‘Steam Elephant’ was built in the early 1800’s, this is a replica built in 2002 but it still looks very old to me.
Old trains are so interesting and colourful, like works of art. Modern trains all look alike
You’re right the old ones have much more character.

When we were in Canada we saw some really long freight trains, we counted over a hundred containers/wagons on one.
