Weekly Photo Challenge – Shadowed

Weekly Photo Challenge – For this week’s Photo Challenge, find the shadows. You can choose a literal interpretation and shoot an actual shadow, or you can play with the light and dark, and create a moody scene, or capture your subject in a rich and interesting way.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Room

The Daily Post Challenge: “Like a few other English wordsRoom means two contradictory things. It can be the four walls that enclose us, giving us shelter and comfort but also limiting our movement. It’s also the limitless space into which we can wander and which we can fill — or try to (think about that expression, “room to grow”).”

I’ve chosen photos of vintage rooms. The top one was taken at Cragside House, Northumberland and the rest were taken at Beamish Museum, Durham

Weekly Photo Challenge – Work of Art

The Daily Post Photo Challenge – This week, share a photo of something that’s art to you. It could be some actual “art,” like a painting by your grandmother or the misshapen but perfect clay sculpture your child brought home from kindergarden, or something most people wouldn’t consider beautiful at all, but that has meaning to you. The important thing is that it’s art in your eyes.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Perspective

“This week’s photo challenge is about perspective: post a photo which is not what it seems to be. Make sure you share what the photo actually is of in its caption!

For those who are looking for an extra bit of challenge, show us two photos, each one showing a different angle or interpretation of the same subject”

I mis-read the challenge to start with, I thought it was for two photos showing a different angle but I missed the bit about a photo which is not what it seems so I had another look and found this ‘pattern’.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Treasure

treasureI’m a mixed media artist so for my treasure challenge I have chosen a few of the many things I use, such as beads

treasure1

threads

treasure2pens

treasure3

android tablet and sketchbooks

treasure4

I like to have a daily creating fix, although nowadays it is quite often drawing on the tablet. I have lots of other treasure, too much to show, but I can’t leave my camera off the list.

treasure5This photo was taken with the tablet. I’m quite surprised at how all the photos came out today as it is a dark, wet miserable day – again.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Object

objectMy daughter rented a flat in London where an artist used to live and some of her work was still there, like this lovely sculpture. There was also a motorbike in the living room, but that wasn’t so pretty. She was pleased to move out, not because of the bike but because it was so cold and on the verge of falling down.
