Central Arcade

My entry for Monday Window

This lovely old building is in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne and is an Edwardian shopping arcade built in 1906 and designed by Oswald and Son, of Newcastle. It is in the Central Exchange building, which was built by Richard Grainger in 1836–38 to the designs of John Wardle and George Walker. It is up for sale if anyone is interested, only £11.75m.

Reflections on the Tyne

My entry for Cellpic Sunday 12Dec21

The river Tyne from the Newcastle side with The Sage building in the background. The Gateshead Millennium bridge is known locally as the blinking eye bridge due to it’s shape and it’s movement, it tilts to allow ships to pass.

Thursday Doors 16th July 2020

I’m sharing my Newcastle-Upon-Tyne doors with Norm at Thursday Doors

It’s the first time I’ve been in a city since lockdown, This is the Northumbria University area so away from shops and there were not many people about.

The door below is different to the one above but part of the same building
