Weekly Photo Challenge – Summer Loving

Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge – “This week, share a photo that says summer lovin’ to you. It might be a favorite pair of sandals you can’t bear to part with, the homemade salsa you made with veggies from your garden, the flowers you planted, or your family frolicking on the beach. If summer is on the way in your hemisphere, show us something hot hot hot: your homemade sriracha sauce, some friends shuckin’ and jivin’ on the dance floor, or even the furnace or boiler that heats your home.”wpc-summer-loving You can’t beat a nice drink of beer on a hot sunny day, this one was in Prague.

A lovely summer evening – it doesn’t always rain in Scotland

I don’t actually like sitting on beaches but I do like to walk along them, I love looking at the sea.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Relic

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge – Share a photo of what “relic” means to you — it could be your still-running 1979 Honda Accord Hatchback, an historic building in your town, or an old, rusted farm implement poking up through the long grass in a field.wpc---relic Chillingham Castlewpc---relic-1 Whitbywpc---relic-2

Weekly Photo Challenge – Between

The Daily Post photo challenge – Between.  “Capture something in the middle of two things. It can be a person or object, or simply the space in between. It can also be a feeling or relationship — a bond that connects people, or a space that separates. This word might also reflect a choice you need to make — the challenge of choosing one thing over another — or any kind of transition, from childhood to adulthood, single life to married life, day to night.”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Room

The Daily Post Challenge: “Like a few other English wordsRoom means two contradictory things. It can be the four walls that enclose us, giving us shelter and comfort but also limiting our movement. It’s also the limitless space into which we can wander and which we can fill — or try to (think about that expression, “room to grow”).”

I’ve chosen photos of vintage rooms. The top one was taken at Cragside House, Northumberland and the rest were taken at Beamish Museum, Durham

Daily Post Photo Challenge – Split-Second Story

Daily Post Photo Challenge – Split-Second Story

“For this week’s challenge, we want you to become a documentary photographer and attempt to capture a candid moment of a person, place, or thing. Put your National Geographic hat on and tell a story by documenting a moment in time through a single image. Capture the thrill of a skate park, or the calmness of a café patio. Let your imagination inspire and guide you!”

wpc-splitsecondMy split-second story is when I was visiting Bristol and came across the filming of an episode of Casualty. Photo taken from a bridge.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Twist

The Daily Post Photo Challenge – “Twist is filthy with meaning: it’s unexpected, it’s surprise, it’s even an amazing ice cream choice. What does “twist” mean to you?”

When I hear the word twist I usually think of the dance, but I’ve found some photos which didn’t come out quite as expected. The spider was on a web but he looks like he’s walking in air [or on glass maybe].

wpc-twistOn another photo I took of the same thing, the spider hardly shows………but I do like how the web came out.
